Applications are now being accepted for the next cohort of the Women in Skilled Trades (WIST) Apprenticeship Readiness Program (ARP). The WIST ARP is 16+ weeks and will give you a broad overview of the industry, and what it is like as a woman in the industry, and give you exposure to a number of different trades through hands-on activities. Graduates from WIST will apply to the licensed apprenticeship program for their preferred trade.
ARP classes are held in Lansing, MI on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6-9, and Saturdays from 8-3, for 16 weeks. There is no cost to WIST ARP participants.
Our curriculum is a nationally recognized credentialed program (North America’s Building Trades Unions Multi-craft Core Curriculum). You will also receive other valuable certifications that will help build your resume and set you apart from other apprentice applicants – First Aid/CPR/AED, Lift Operator Certified, OSHA 30-hour.

The core mission of the WIST program is to promote better lives for women through skilled trades. Their apprenticeship readiness program has helped a great number of Michigan women gain the skills needed to succeed in the predominantly male building trades and construction apprenticeship and journeyworker programs.
