MLTAI recently participated in a disaster relief effort in Sanford Michigan. During the Memorial holiday weekend, MLTAI Training Director Lynn Coleman organized a volunteer group in response to the failed dams and the flood damage that followed in the area.
With 60 different LiUNA members, training staff, contractor partners, friends, family, volunteers and apprentices, they cleaned up and hauled off damaged property. The volunteer group logged in over 1,400 work hours with 22 pieces of equipment used in the process.
MLTAI wants to thank the following contractors – Kaltz Excavation, AIS Equipment, Briggs Contracting, Tri-City Ground Breakers and Champagne & Marx Excavating, Inc. – for supplying labor, tools, staging areas, and equipment. They also want to thank The Drew Foundation for keeping the volunteers all well fed and hydrated for the long day’s work.
